I had the chance to talk to influential DJ Sasha last week for a story that ran in Monday’s paper.
He and John Digweed have teamed up again to play Coachella this year.
One of the things I asked him about is how he keeps things interesting for himself, since he’s been DJ-ing for about two decades at this point.
“The music is interesting. It’s not something you have to push yourself to do,” he said.
But what I found really interesting is that even he gets in a slump somtimes. He said that sometimes he’ll hit a 2-3 month stretch where nothing’s exciting him and then one record comes out and changes everything.
“You have to have faith in the music,” he said.
