Damon Albarn of Blur plays in L.A. in 1999. The Britpop band is reuniting next year and are part of the Coachella rumor mill. I’m just hoping they stock up on the sunscreen if they come out.
Question: Who loves Britpop?
Answer: Pretty much everyone who goes to Coachella.
And the kings of ’90s Britpop are back and I’m sure the Coachella fans are all googly eyed over the idea of a Blur reunion in Indio. I know I am.
The band has posted on its Web site that they will be reuniting next year, but there’s no mention of our favorite festival in the desert.
The band hasn’t been together since 2000.
This sounds like just the right reunion for Coachella this year. If you’ve been hiding under a rock or are new to the area, the festival has a history of bringing people back together (Rage, Jesus and Mary Chain, etc.).
I think this calls for an impromptu Britpop dance party in my cubicle. First up, “Girls & Boys.”
