There’s no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.

Suicide Silence was born out of the close-knit local scene.

Inland metal band Sangre shared some words on their Facebook page:

Wow! Mitch Lucker “Suicide Silence” died last night due to a motorcycle accident. Sad news… Wether u are a fan of his band or not its out of respect to a fellow musician in our metal community.
We’ve seen this band go from opening up at the Showcase in Corona to blowing up worldwide! Rest In Peace brother. Our condolences to his family.

Both Sangre and Suicide Silence were on the bill for California Metalfest later this month in San Bernardino.

A number of members in the Inland music scene shared condolences, including a large number outside the metal world, including Leandro Barrientos, from Corona indie rock band Castle Pines.

A very very sad thing. Keep your prayers with the LUCKER family and SUICIDE SILENCE. This effects everyone in SoCal music regardless of what you listen to. My deepest condolences and sympathy.
