We’ve been covering the tragic loss of Suicide Silence singer Mitch Lucker since the news broke about his death yesterday morning.

One of the most powerful parts of this sad story is the outpouring of support from the band’s fans. I tried to explain the emotional connection between Suicide Silence, Mitch Lucker and the band’s fans in a story I am working on today.

One of the people I talked to about it was Scott Heisel at Alternative Press. The magazine has been very kind to link to our coverage here and they also have a very nice photo gallery and account of the Huntington Beach vigil for Lucker that happened Thursday night.

Some of the local TV stations were also at the vigil, including KNBC.

They talked to Lucker’s wife, Jolie, who said the singer was drinking before getting on his motorcycle.

The last thing we heard from the Huntington Beach Police Department was that “The investigation into the cause of the collision or whether alcohol was a factor is ongoing.”
