Few things make life better than watching “Weekend at Bernie’s.” Like “The Godfather,” it is a film that I will cancel plans to watch.
In fact, I love the movie so much that two friends and I dressed up as the cast for Halloween a couple of years ago.
It’s on again today and while I get our place ready for Thanksgiving, I find myself singing the song that’s the most prominent in the film–Jermaine Stewart’s ” Hot & Cold.”
“Weekend at Bernie’s” stars Jonathan Silverman (who I’ve actually seen at a show in LA) and Andrew McCarthy, one of my favorite actors, ever.
McCarthy is a travel journalist when he’s not acting or directing, and he recently released a new book, “The Longest Way Home.”
Another classic McCarthy film is “Pretty in Pink,” which probably has the best soundtrack of any of the John Hughes ’80s classics. The title track by the Psychedelic Furs is still great.
