I want to rock out with two female-fronted ’90s bands tonight.
Up first, Veruca Salt, a band named after a character in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
Here’s “Seether,” the song that’s still my favorite by them. The band is currently on hiatus, but insists Veruca is still alive.
And what would a little ’90s flashback be without The Breeders’ “Cannonball”? They reunited in recent years and played the 2008 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and on drums was Jose Medeles, who was in a band I just talked about yesterday, 22 Jacks. However, it doesn’t look like the band has been up to much since All Tomorrow’s Parties in 2010.
