The Band Wars series has been so successful at Temecula all-ages venue The Vault that the band battle is going on year-round.

The Vault is seeking entries from artists interested in participating.

The next round of preliminary shows will be Jan. 5, Jan. 12 and Jan. 19. The top two or three bands from each show in the first round move onto the final.

Bands do not have to sell tickets for the show to participate, but the band that sells the most of its 30-ticket allotment gets first choice on set time.

Three judges watch the bands perform 20 minute sets and judge them on song structure, musicianship and performance/crowd reaction.

The winning band will receive $500, a day of recording with Alex Pappas (of Finch), and 10 days of practice space in the venue’s studios.

The final round of Band Wars for this cycle will be on Saturday, Dec. 15.
