We’re following the story of Mexican-American singing superstar Jenni Rivera, who is missing after her plane lost contact just outside of Monterrey, Mexico, early Sunday morning.

Rivera lived in Norco for a time and her home was featured on her TV show on Mun2, “I Love Jenni,” but worldwide she was beloved.

Regarded as most successful female singer in the Banda style, which evolved in Northern Mexico and features heavy brass and percussion, Rivera has sold millions of records.

Here’s a little sample of her work.

One of her most popular songs is “Basta Ya.” This is a live version recorded in Mexico City.

Her 2009 album “La Gran SeƱora,” was very highly regarded and sold more than a million copies in the U.S.

Her reality show, “I Love Jenni,” showed Rivera trying to balance her work and family lives.
