It’s the end of the year and there’s been so much great music that it took me a while to figure out my favorite Inland releases. I’ll be posting two per day over the next week or soHere’s a link to everyone who made the list so far. You can see the full list, plus the more than honorable mentions in the Dec. 28 edition of The Press-Enterprise in the Guide section.

Knock-Out

“A New Beginning”

“A New Beginning” is an appropriate name for the EP from Riverside’s Knock-Out.

While the band bridges its reagge and ska-rock inspired roots on “Drinking Without You,” the new Knock-Out has more of an edge, evidenced by the screaming guitar solo on “Broken Wings” and the up-tempo Alkaline Trio-esque “Never Look Back.”

Knock-Out is one of the hardest-working bands from Riverside and has always been a big supporter of helping other local groups–whether it’s at their annual Home for the Holidays show or just a random show around town.

Warning: there is adult language on “Never Look Back.”
