AUDIO FILES: Listen to The Beatles, John Lennon

My personal stash of Beatles ornaments. (Vanessa Franko/Staff Photo)

We’re almost done with the very special Audio Files with my bizarre taste in Christmas music. And since it’s Christmas Eve, I thought I’d share a little holiday cheer.

A couple of years ago, I started my endeavor to create a “Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Tree.” I put up two trees–one full, live one of ornaments from my childhood and one is a black tree with white and red lights that I hang all of my music-related ornaments on.

I have Elvis Presley young and old (and Elvii in many glittery jumpsuit colors), Sinatra, a costumed Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS and a much coveted Boyz II Men bulb on the tree. However, one artist dominates the Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas tree and that is The Beatles.

I’m hoping one day to have enough for a Beatles-only tree. I have Beatles cartoon ornaments, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” ornaments and a lot of “Yellow Submarine” trinkets.

So in honor of that, here’s The Beatles with “Christmas Time Is Here Again.”

And what kind of Christmas would it be without John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).”

Wham! The other outtakes from the “Last Christmas” single are even more disturbing. (Contributed Image)
