If you’re just joining us, I’ve been revealing my favorite releases from Inland artists over the last few days (see the Local Favorites link).

You can also see the full list and the more-than-honorable mentions in The Press-Enterprise on Friday, Dec. 28.

The Dangers have done it again. Led by Chris LeRoy and Bob Vennum, the Redlands-based band has crafted an album of power pop inspired by The Beatles.

The catchy “Hello Day Sleeper” is in the same league as the songs on “Rubber Soul.”

“There’s a River, Sweet Virginia,” is another fantastic song on the album.

I loved the band’s 2010 release, “A Little Bit of Light” and it’s electrified glory, but “Embrace the Light Outside” still shows off LeRoy’s penchant for pitch-perfect power pop.

Fun fact: The Paper Crowns, whose “See You Tonight” was already revealed on the Local Favorites 2012 list, sang some backing vocals on this record.

Here’s “Hello Day Sleeper.”
