Hope everyone’s recovered from the celebrations of yesterday. I’ve got some great music for you to feast on this morning. If you haven’t seen the blog this week, I’ve been revealing my favorite local releases from 2012 all week long. You can see the artists I’ve revealed so far (I’m doing it in random order) at the Local Favorites link.

You’ll be able to see the whole list (plus the more-than-honorable mentions) in The Press-Enterprise on Friday, Dec. 28.

However, now it’s time to reveal my next local favorite and it’s from an artist who moved to the Inland Empire from Carson after he saw the talent and the scene that was building here a couple of years ago.

“Atychiphobia”

Curtiss King’s “Atychiphobia” is the San Bernardino rapper’s most ambitious release yet. After a string of successful mixtapes, King has brought something more to the table with full-length debut “Atychiphobia.”

It’s a really personal, deep album that shows why King is one to watch.

King’s love letter to music, “Sade.Badu.Jill,” referencing Sade, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, is a highlight, as are “The Bottom” and “No Negativity Around Me.”

It’s a fitting end of a very successful year for King. He appeared on the Paid Dues Independent Hip-Hop Festival in March and is opening for Murs at the House of Blues in Anaheim on Thursday, Dec. 27.
