It’s time for another album on my Local Favorites of 2012 list. For the past week I’ve been revealing my favorite albums and EPs from Inland Empire-based artists. You can see the rest at the Local Favorites link or pick up a copy of The Press-Enterprise on Friday, Dec. 28.

“Live at the Rec Room”

For Borrowed Bones’ debut release, the Riverside rock group decided to record a live show over the summer. It was the right decision. The guitar work comes alive, the rhythm section pops and the energy is high on this fun, straight-up rock record from the band that rose from the ashes of The Generation.

There are big hooks and big riffs all through the songs, but among the standouts on the record are “Angel’s Heart Attack” and “Not Your Fool.”
