Here’s my final Coachella 2013 lineup predictions post of 2012.
I did a quick search for bands playing San Francisco from mid-late April and came up with four more Coachella Festival predictions: Alex Clare, Lucero, Beach House and Alabama Shakes.
(Quick background: The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will have two editions again for 2013. Weekend one is April 12-14 and weekend two is April 19-21. Both are at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. The lineup is generally released in January and tickets tend to go on sale the Friday after the lineup is released. Let’s get to the artists:
Alex Clare
If I had to name the top three songs I heard more than any others in 2012, I’d pick Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” and Alex Clare’s “Too Close.”
His dates around Coachella include Tempe, Ariz., San Diego, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
Now let’s all join in on the song that could very well be a 2013 Coachella moment.
Lucero
Lucero last played the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2010. More recently, the band was one of the highlights at the Goldenvoice-produced Hootenanny in Orange County in summer 2012 and stopped at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown last summer, too.
Their dates around Coachella include Solana Beach at the Belly Up Tavern, San Francisco, Arizona and more.
Alabama Shakes
One of the biggest buzz bands of 2012, Alabama Shakes already has a relationship with Goldenvoice, Coachella’s promoter, after the rockers played the Pomona Fox, which Goldenvoice also promotes over the summer.
The band’s tour hits the West Coast in March, but has no Southern California dates and their itinerary stops April 6 with Lollapalooza Chile.
Beach House
Beach House is the final band of my Coachella 2013 post today. Like me, they hail from Baltimore (and on that note, Go Ravens!). The dreampop band will play Friday or Saturday at the twin Coachellas, judging by their tour dates. Beach House was last at Coachella in 2010.
I’ve covered the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival since 2007.
