Here’s a band that has been around for a while, but has a killer new album out. If you like the epic blues-inspired rock that came out of the early 1970s, check out Rival Sons.

I saw them open up for Kid Rock at March Air Reserve Base at the end of 2010 and they really impressed me. The new album is even better.

Plus, singer Jay Buchanan is a local–he’s from San Bernardino.

They’re playing the Echo in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 9, too. The show is 18 and up, but tickets are only $10.

I love their new single, “Until the Sun Comes.”

I really dig this older one, too, “Pressure and Time.”
