It’s getting to the point in the anticipation of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup that anything seems plausible, well, except maybe a reunion of The Smiths.

That being said, I have some more predictions/wish list/rumors/ponderings from more Coachella 2013 fans who have contacted me. Thanks again to everyone sending them my way. Also, the folks here have put together a contest to win a gift card to a sporting goods store to pick up camping gear for your Coachella camp site. If you enter your 2013 headliner picks in the form, you’re entered. If you want more predictions and wish lists, I tag all of my Coachella prediction posts Coachellaology.

You can see everything I’ve blogged about from the rumor mill for Coachella 2013 at the bottom of this entry.

Deer Tick
Jolie Perkins sent me an email today suggesting Deer Tick, who have a date in Phoenix in late March.

If Deer Tick goes, this opens up a few others, with that chameleon of a front man, John McCauley. Diamond Rugs would be a shoo-in, if Deer Tick is there. I checked out Consequence of Sound’s list of predictions and they list Dawes as logical band for the lineup (despite having been there last year). Delta Spirit shows nothing on their tour schedule after the end of January. I would be surprised if they, as a band, make it to the festival, but I wouldn’t be too surprised to see them. I would think it more likely to see lead Matthew Vasqez go to the festival and make Middle Brother (McCauley, Vasquez and Dawes’s Goldsmith) a very real reality!

Excellent points from Jolie. I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of those acts, except for Dawes. They are touring with Dr. Dog, who appear to have dates open for Coachella and happen to be in our area of the country out here around the April 12-14 and April 19-21 festival weekends.

However, I think her Middle Brother prediction could be spot on. FYI, Dawes was at Coachella 2012, Deer Tick was last at Coachella in 2010 and Delta Spirit played in 2011.

Deftones and Geographer
Thomas White from Boston has been to Coachella three times. He’s picking Geographer and Deftones.

I vote Geographer for Coachella 2013 and Deftones to make their debut. Deftones live in Cali and new album and tour UK Feb. then US March April nothing (Coachella)

Solid points from Thomas, too. Deftones’ tour mysteriously stops in Texas at the end of March and new material are both strong signs. The band has played Goldenvoice venues before, too, including the Pomona Fox.

I don’t know as much about Geographer, but they have a sold-out show at The Echo in L.A. on Feb. 1. That buzz is big, but that date might be too close to the festival.

Atoms for Peace
My colleague in sports, Eric-Paul Johnson, is also a Coachella vet. He Tweeted that we’ll be seeing Atoms for Peace with Thom Yorke and Flea.

I predict Atoms For Peace – Yorke & Flea together will be exciting, and their album is out 2/25.

Good points–Yorke’s solo stint at Coachella in 2010 became Atoms for Peace and Flea was there. After Radiohead’s headlining spot last year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Yorke and friends play the Empire Polo Club again in 2013.

Justin Timberlake
Mike Weisberg sent me a Tweet this morning inquiring about Justin Timberlake.

@vanessafranko: #Rumor: since lineups MIGHT be announced monday and justin timberlake’s single/tour dates on monday> JT headlines Coachella?

He elaborated a little bit more this afternoon.

@vanessafranko: I think it’s an unlikely circumstance. I’ve seen him live once-After future sex love sound dropped. Dude’s unreal live.

First off, was I the only one who had “Blair Witch Project” flashbacks while watching JT’s big countdown video the other day? Now, I think Timberlake could bring some big guests with him (no, not an NSync reunion, but he’s rumored to be working with Jay-Z and Beyonce), but is he too mainstream for Coachella?

I wasn’t there in 2006 when Madonna performed in the Sahara Tent (my first Coachella was 2007), was she beloved as a pop idol or did the Coachella crowd not love it?

I don’t think it’s likely, but Timberlake is the kind of bold festival-changing artist I think Coachella might welcome, just to continually push the envelope and the boundaries of what Coachella is.

So what do you think of these predictions? Do you think Timberlake is a real possibility? Will Thom Yorke trutn to Indio? Let me know in the comments below.

Don’t forget to enter the drawing for a gift card for camping gear, either. All you have to do is fill out the form and enter your Coachella 2013 headliner picks, you don’t even have to be right to win.
