I’m investigating a few Coachella-related happenings today, but I wanted to post about two artists that other media outlets have already been talking about for the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival–Bat for Lashes and Rodriguez in an attempt to respond to the emails, Tweets and Facebook messages folks have been sending about both artists.

Sixto Rodriguez is coming to Coachella. The guitarist, subject of the heralded documentary “Searching for Sugar Man” appears to be playing Coachella, as per the documentary’s website. Sunday, April 14 and Sunday, April 21 are the dates he’s listed as playing the Empire Polo Field in Indio.
Consequence of Sound had Rodriguez listed on the Festival Outlook page for a while, linking to a Willamette Week interview with Rodriguez from October.

Bat for Lashes
Bat for Lashes is another one that people have been talking about for a while. The band confirmed it in the Flavorpill Sessions Jan. 9.
Looking at the band’s tour dates, it looks like Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, April 20 will be the band’s Coachella slots. They’re in San Francisco on Sunday, April 14 and Big Sur on Friday, April 19.

I’ve covered the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival since 2007. All of the Coachella prediction posts here are tagged with Coachellaology.
