For the last week or so, we’ve been asking readers to submit their picks for headliners for the lineup of the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
We’re still waiting for the lineup, but don’t freak out. It’s not uncommon for the lineup to be announced later in January. You can check out the charts I built for historical information on Coachella lineup release data.
(If you fill out the form with your picks, you can win a gift card for camping gear. The contest runs until the official lineup is released. Also, the winners will be selected at random.)
Since the latest reports are saying The Rolling Stones are out for Coachella 2013, I’m wondering if we’re going to see them be overtaken by someone else in the polls. Right now, the Stones are still number one, with Daft Punk only 30 behind. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs surged ahead of David Bowie while the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Justin Timberlake and No Doubt all picked up steam.
The Rolling Stones 149
Daft Punk 119
Yeah Yeah Yeahs 55
David Bowie 45
Phoenix 33
Red Hot Chili Peppers 24
Mumford & Sons 23
No Doubt 22
Justin Timberlake 20
Deadmau5 19
Pearl Jam 18
Eminem 16
Blur 16
The Killers 14
Outkast 11
Kanye West 11
Muse 10
Jay-Z 9
The XX 8
Bjork 8
Green Day 8
Also, I’d like to give a shout out to John Eden of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, who made me laugh with his selection of Kevin Federline. Also, three people voted for Nirvana. One specified Nirvana with McCartney, but Harvey Foss from Davis is voting for a Nirvana hologram set.
Again, you can fill out the form with your picks to be entered to win a gift card for camping gear.
I’ve covered the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival since 2007. All of the Coachella prediction posts here are tagged with Coachellaology.
