With the changing of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival homepage on Tuesday, Jan. 22, that’s traditionally a sign that a lineup announcement isn’t far behind.

If the lineup is announced on Wednesday, that will be only the second time in the festival’s history that the Coachella lineup was announced on hump day. The last time it was announced on a Wednesday was in 1999, the first year of Coachella’s existence, when it was in the fall instead of the spring.

But before we go into the madness that is everyone arguing about the 2013 lineup, I thought it might be fun to look at some more reader suggestions:

Jason Bowen and Darren Thompson both sent me Tweets about The xx.
From Jason:
“The xx said they were announcing US dates tomorrow. Hoping they are waiting for Coachella announcement to coincide with it.”
From Darren:
“The xx also put up dates that make them look like they’re Indio-bound…. Apr 15-16 in AZ & Vegas, with nuthin on either side.”

-Gentlemen, I think you’re both right–The xx looks likely to be there (tour dates, plus new record released last year, previous Coachella performer back in 2010, etc.) I’m just bummed I didn’t see the data visualization for their album “Coexist” when they first released the stream last year. The data journalism geek inside me squealed.

Darren also brought up Grizzly Bear, as did my colleague and fellow Coachellaphile Imran Ghori. Here’s what Darren Tweeted me with on Tuesday:

“Grizzly Bear just announced dates that put them in Big Sur 4/15-16, and are open for both Coachella weekends :-)”

With a new album and those dates, I think Grizzly Bear is also a safe bet. They also did Coachella in 2010.

I’ve covered the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival since 2007. All of the Coachella prediction posts here are tagged with Coachellaology.
