Blur, The Stone Roses, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, event organizers announced today.

The festival will return to the Empire Polo Club for consecutive weekends April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Coachella 2013 lineup (Coachella)

Coachella, a taste-making music festival that has championed indie and alternative rock and electronic dance music since 1999, kicks off the major music festival season and attracts tens of thousands of music fans from around the world.

The lineup also includes Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The xx. The Postal Service, an electronic/indie rock group featuring Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie is reuniting at the festival.

Cult icon Nick Cave and his band the Bad Seeds are also on the bill, as is Lou Reed.

In 2012, the first year Coachella had twin editions with identical lineups, the concert sold out in hours, the fastest sell-out for the event.

A month after the festivals concluded, Goldenvoice released an allotment of advance sale tickets for 2013, which were also gone within hours.

Festival passes for both weekends go on sale Tuesday, January 29th at 10 AM PST. Festival passes for Weekend 1 must be purchased with a shuttle pass or a car camping pass. New for 2013, the price you see is the price you pay — prices reflect all fees included. Layaway is no longer an option for either weekend.
