The Heat is on at UC Riverside, where the student body will not get that Glenn Frey reference at all.
The UCR Heat Festival returns to campus on March 2, with a lineup of EDM phenom Porter Robinson, rapper Tyga, plus AWOLNATION, Surfer Blood and Best Coast. Kid Ink, The M Machine and Audien round out the lineup.
The bill includes a number of former Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival veterans, including Robinson, AWOLNATION and Best Coast (the latter of whom seem to be hitting the I.E. college tour–they played Cal State University San Bernardino in the fall).
Heat has consistently grown and was bringing in a strong EDM lineup before the genre became as massive as it has. It’s part of UC Riverside’s homecoming week and the campus is turned into a multi-stage concert wonderland.
Tickets are $42.50, plus fees, for general admission, and $25.50 for fans who attend/work at UCR. They can be purchased online at www.vendini.com.
If you purchase tickets, you have to pick them up with a photo ID at the HUB Welcome Desk before March 2. You can pick them up one business day after you place your order. The UCR student/staff tickets will require a UCR ID upon pick up. Also, the name on your order must match the name on your ID when picking up the tickets.
