Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace is bringing in a double bill of icons on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Marshall Crenshaw and Dave Alvin are teaming up for a show at the spot.
Crenshaw, beloved singer-songwriter best known for “Someday, Someway,” has recently started his own subscription music service for fans. Crenshaw plans to release six three-song 10-inch, 45 RPM vinyl EPs over the next two years for subscribers (who also get a download of the music).
Dave Alvin, known for his work with X, The Blasters and The Knitters, also has a venerable solo career. Lately, his songs have been featured on the FX show “Justified.” He also released an expanded version of his most recent solo album, “Eleven Eleven” in April 2012.
