Some notable artists have joined the Stagecoach Country Music Festival lineup.

Chris Shiflett, of rock gods the Foo Fighters and most excellent punk bands No Use for a Name and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, brings his Americana outfit Chris Shiflett and the Dead Peasants, to Stagecoach 2013 on Sunday, April 28.

Shiflett has previously played in the area for the Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven Campout at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. I really loved the album Shiflett put out with the Dead Peasants in 2010. I’m really glad to see them coming to Stagecoach and hopefully this means new music is on the way, too.

But wait, there’s more. For all of you “Sons of Anarchy” fans out there, Katey Sagal and The Forest Rangers will also be performing on Sunday, April 28 at Stagecoach.

Sagal, who plays Gemma Teller Morrow (and won an Emmy for it), will be singing with the group, which is a talented crop of musicians in their own right (Bob Thiele, Dave Kushner, Lyle Workman, Greg Leisz, John Philip Shenale, Dave Way and Brian Macleod) who have become the “Sons of Anarchy” house band. One of the members is bassist Davey Faragher, who is from Redlands and was part of Cracker (co-writing the hit “Low”). Faragher has also played with Elvis Costello since 2001.

The Little Willies, which features Norah Jones, Richard Julian, Jim Campilongo, Lee Alexander and Dan Rieser, have also been added to the Stagecoach 2013 lineup. The Little Willies will perform on Friday, April 26. Their second album, “For the Good Times,” was released in January 2012.

In other Stagecoach news, Robert Ellis, who was scheduled to play Saturday, April 27, is now on the bill for Friday, April 26 instead.

The Stagecoach Country Music Festival will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on April 26-28. General admission tickets ($239 each) and the P2 section of reserved tickets ($799 each) are still available for the show at http://stagecoachfestival.frontgatetickets.com/. Kids 10 and younger get into general admission areas for free. Visit www.stagecoachfestival.com for more information.
