We’ve had a lot of breaking news here that I’ve been helping out on so I haven’t had a chance to give a proper send-up to my interactive Coachella map.
Since the announcement was released at the end of January, I chipped away at researching every artist to find their location so I could plot them on a map. I started with official Facebook pages for each artist (nearly all have them) to look for a hometown. I went with what the artists listed, which is why you’ll see Moby in Connecticut. Sweden isn’t as big of a player this year as it was last year. Last year we had something like 9 or 10 acts from Sweden play Coachella 2012, including EDM gods Swedish House Mafia and the reunion of post-hardcore band Refused. This year Sweden only has three artists-EDM performers Eric Prydz and Adrian Lux and metal band Ghost.
However, Iceland is representing hard for 2013 with Sigur Ros and Of Monsters and Men.

As far as the U.S. goes, California and New York claim the highest number of artists. You can check out the state-by-state breakdown of Coachella 2013 performers on this other infographic I made.
