COACHELLA 2013: April Fools’ prank or a Daft Punk confirmation?

It’s April Fools’ Day, so keep that in mind, but reader Justin Rothgeb just alerted me to a link of a video of Daft Punk on Viddy supposedly proclaiming that they’re coming to the desert.

Everyone has been asking about whether or not Daft Punk will play the 2013 Coachella Festival. Then, a rep for the band said that Daft Punk is NOT playing after the band’s Vevo page had April 12 in Indio listed as a concert date for a time.

Now this is a clever video, with Daft Punk helmets, but I don’t speak French so I have no idea if the translation is correct. Also, the “verified” ribbon is on the picture on the icon and it doesn’t look like the other verified accounts on the Viddy site.

I think it’s an April Fools’ prank, but kudos to whoever came up with it. It’s sure to get people talking. I am still sticking with my campaign for Daft Punk as a Coachella 2013 hologram.

What do you think, Coachella and Daft Punk faithful? Prank or real?
