The Rolling Stones have announced some dates for their upcoming tour and there are two SoCal shows on the list. (Up front: Neither one is Coachella 2013).

The tour, celebrating the band’s 50-plus years of being together, is going to start in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, but there’s not a firm date yet because of the uncertainty of the NBA/NHL playoff picture.

However, the band’s 50 and Counting tour will stop at the Honda Center in Anaheim on May 15.

Here’s what frontman Mick Jagger had to say about the tour in a press release:

“’50 AND COUNTING’ has been pretty amazing so far,” said Jagger. “We did a few shows in London and New York last year…and had such a good time that we thought…let’s do some more. It’s a good show. Lots of the classic stuff everyone wants to hear…with a few little gems tucked in here and there. The stage is shaped like lips and goes off into the venue so I get to run around in the crowd. It’s great fun to be able to get that close to the audience.”

Another interesting note–guitarist Mick Taylor will be on the tour.

The on sale dates haven’t been announced yet for Staples and Honda, but I’ll post them when I know. Visit www.rollingstones.com/tickets/ to purchase tickets. The ticket prices aren’t listed for the SoCal dates yet, but to see them in Oakland, it’s going to cost you some cash–$142.75- $571.50 BEFORE fees. With fees, the cheap seats rise to $171.75 and the priciest tickets are $665.85. (By the way, if you round that top ticket price up, it’s $666 if you pay it does that mean you have sympathy for the devil?)

Also worth mentioning–the tour is the bands first with AEG Live’s Concerts West. AEG also owns Goldenvoice/Coachella. This makes me think that those rumors with the Rolling Stones and Coachella were closer to reality.
