Last week we officially re-launched PE Live, our in-studio interview and performance video series, with the guys in adventure rock band On Being Human.
This is a project I’m really passionate about and I’m excited to feature the guys from Dose of Adolescence in this week’s edition. (Click here to watch Dose of Adolescence perform live in its full glory).

It’s been incredible watching these guys grow and keep getting stronger over the six years I’ve been covering music at The Press-Enterprise. They’ve persevered through some really tough times and they’ve really gained a lot of knowledge by soaking up the lessons from people in the industry, all while treating fans as part of the DofA family. (Their motto has always been “Never love a band that doesn’t love you back” and it’s not just lip service.)
The band has had a lot of exciting things happen in the past year and even more are on the horizon, including a show with Authority Zero in June and a stint on the Vans Warped Tour this summer.
Many thanks to the Dose boys for stopping by. You can see them in the print edition of The Press-Enterprise in the Guide section today, Friday, April 5. Check out the performances of “Sleepless in Southern California” and “Never Want to Say Goodbye” as well as an interview with yours truly.
As for PE Live, every week we’ll be adding new videos from Inland artists. Walter Cabal, Castle Pines, Dose of Adolescence, Davis Fetter, Derrick Sanderlin, Science Fiction Theater, Master Splinter and the Shredders and The Paper Crowns have all already been in to film.
Also, special thanks to the PE video staff, particularly Angel Ortiz, who has been a huge part of getting PE Live back up and running. He’s not only our director of photography, but an editor to boot!
And because Jimmy and I share a huge love of pop music, here’s one more look at their AMAZING cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.”
