If you’ve seen the interactive Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival artist map I made you might have noticed that Los Angeles is really cranking out the Coachella Festival talent for 2013.
This one’s for the Coachella fans coming from outside of Southern California who may not have a chance to see these artists as often as those of us who live in the area.
These are 5 bands from LA you need to catch at Coachella.
Robert DeLong
Robert DeLong night be one of the most interesting sets you see at Coachella 2013. Not only does he have talent, but sometimes he plays music with video game controllers. For real.
Father John Misty
Not only are Father John Misty’s own songs magical, he rocked the heck out of R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly” from “Space Jam” on the S.S. Coachella last winter.
Dillon Francis
Dillion Francis brings out the moombahton, which is the fusion of reggaeton and house music. With the buzz he’s been getting, it may be worth a trek to the Sahara Tent.
White Arrows
I happened to see White Arrows open for Weezer at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino just down the road from the Empire Polo Club a couple of years ago. They were pretty impressive then. Let’s see what they bring to Coachella 2013.
Io Echo
Trent Reznor loves Io Echo. He handpicked them to play at Nine Inch Nails’ final show, well, NIN’s last show before the upcoming ones.
