I am not one for those NME covers about the saviors of rock and roll, but I just saw one of the best sets of the 7 years I’ve been covering Coachella.

Two guys from Vancouver, Canada melted my face off in the Gobi Tent this afternoon. They’re the Japandroids and I loved them so much.

I mean, they started rocking when they were just doing soundcheck.

Highlights of the set included a drum solo, intros of Metallica and AC/DC and more people crowd-surfing at once than I’ve ever seen in a tent at Coachella.

Actually, there were two guys who had been dropped off at the front of the stage and then excitedly ran (kind of skipped/ran) back into the pit.

Japandroids make everyone happy.
