Johnny Marr rocked out in the Mojave Tent to kick off the opening day of the 2013 Coachella Festival.
He also wins for Mr. Congeniality.
“Nice to see you Friday afternoon and all that,” he said after playing The Smiths classic “Stop Me if You Think You’ve Heard This One Before.”
After playing some solo tunes he turned back to The Smiths, an often asked for reunion by Coachella fans.
“You’re a friendly bunch so let’s do something friendly,” he said.
Then he went into “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out,” a Smiths fan favorite.
