I’d been thinking before Coachella started that it would be fun to stop in at one of the activity tents that are set up in the campgrounds. I just had to go outside the festival grounds and back in, along the orange path, so I stopped to check out the activities tent in campground 10 around 5:30 p.m.
It was dead.
There was some fun stuff to do: pinball machines, an arcade basketball hoop, what looked like maybe an air hockey table.
But the only feature really being used was the cellphone charging station. A dozen or so people were chilling in the shade around the outlets. One or two people were playing pinball, and for a second two guys started shooting hoops. There was a little dance stage and some good music playing, but no one dancing. One guy was passed out on some blankets off to one side.
Campers, is it more happening at other times of day?
