COACHELLA 2013: Ghost B.C. makes festival more metal

The Coachella Festival got a bit more metal on its closing day when Ghost B.C., clad in black robes and hoods, brought Swedish heaviness and Gregorian chants together for an opening set.

My random observations about this set:
-Black robes and hoods are going to be brutal weekend two, when the temps will likely hit triple digits.

-Am I back at Big 4? AWESOME!
-Wouldn’t be surprised if the earth had opened up and swallowed us whole.
-This has to be the first time songs have had lyrics in Latin at Coachella .
-One song had a disco beat meets “Eye of the Tiger” thing going on and another reminded me of Dokken. I feel great about both of these things.
-Accpetable dancing to Ghost B.C. includes head banging with your rock horns in the air and/or marching in place with a green pool noodle.
-To the person who was waving a giant sunflower in front of the stage for Ghost B.C. , were you waiting for The Lumineers?
