The early afternoon at Coachella feels busy on Friday, and crazier on Saturday as festival goers are eager to get in and start the three day party. The tents are mix of dancers and those just seeking stage, and the main and Outdoor stages are ten rows, minimum, deep with those waiting for the later acts.
But then comes in Sunday, my favorite day. By the last day, most are tired, and the grounds won’t be crowded until mid to late afternoon. This is the early bird’s chance to venture into Sahara without being mobbed by the ravers, check out the numerous art installations without six other people trying to get a photo in front of you, and check out some of the lesser known musicians performing, without having to step over the shade seekers.
For those seeking a little space after two days of mashing from stage to stage, Sunday early afternoon is it.
