The Coachella Festival is known for breaking new bands, but the Stagecoach Country Music Festival also has some discoveries.
The best act I saw at Stagecoach this year was The Lone Bellow, which played the Palomino Stage on Saturday afternoon.
With power harmonies, the five piece had a feel that was a little bit like the Black Crowes meets Fleetwood Mac hanging out in Appalachia.
Zach Williams, the group’s lead singer, told the crowd it was the first festival the Brooklyn-band had ever played.
“What is it, like 71, 72 degrees out here?” he asked to a crowd that laughed along in the triple digit heat. “In our hearts it is.”
