I’ve been reporting on the sad news of the death of Slayer guitarist of Jeff Hanneman. He died Thursday, May 2, at an area hospital from liver failure.

Here’s an interview with Hanneman from a few years back talking about Slayer’s 2009 album “World Painted Blood,” the end of the world in 2012 and his love of the B-52’s.

FYI, there is some strong language near the end of the video.

Here’s another one with Hanneman talking about picking up the guitar and the beginnings of Slayer with fellow guitarist Kerry King. There’s also some language in this one about halfway through.

I feel very fortunate that I got to watch Hanneman perform at the Big 4 in Indio. He didn’t do the whole show, but he did come up for the encore.

Feel free to share your memories and condolences.
