I am down at Vista Murrieta High School today to watch Neon Trees perform a special concert in the hometown of guitarist Chris Allen and singer Tyler Glenn.

After sound check I had the chance to catch up with Tyler a little bit.

While the band’s most recent effort, “Picture Show,” came out in April 2012, there is some new music in the works.  Tour plans changed, giving the band an opportunity to work on new material.

“I’m really feeling creative right now,” he said. “We’re all forward-thinking right now.”

With the heights of success the band has reached so far, including platinum singles “Everybody Talks” and “Animal,” Glenn said his family helps keep him grounded, as do the other members of the band.

“We check each other pretty well,” he said.

So what does Tyler Glenn do when he has a break?

If he has three days off, he is happy to sit at home, cooking up skillet meals and watching “The Chew,” “The View” and shows of that variety.

I will have a video up with more from the interview with Tyler later.
