The Heat Festival, an annual concert with big names in music held on campus at the University of California, Riverside, has been canceled due to the weather.

University officials had made changes to the event, which features multiple stages across the campus, to accommodate light to moderate rain, but the forecast severe weather that could include lightning, and high winds and heavy, sustained rain, forced the cancellation.

Rapper Childish Gambino, French house music producer Madeon, rockers The Neighbourhood and Portugal. The Man, singer Ciara, and Canadian electronic duo Dzeko and Torres were scheduled to perform at the popular festival.

University officials said the concert would not be rescheduled and that ticket buyers would receive refunds within a few days. Those who purchased tickets online would be contacted via their purchasing email address.
