Five years ago, It’s the Common Ground made its debut at The Vibe in Riverside and gave a place for musicians of all types to get up and perform and hone their skills, whether they were freestyling or plugging in a guitar.
The night is one of the reasons that the Inland Empire music scene is experiencing a renaissance and there will be a special fifth anniversary party with some old friends on Sunday.
Moreno Valley rapper Speak (“Bulletproof Denali”) will headline the night. Other performers include Nocando, What Hands Are For, Verbs, Art Barz, Nietzsche Cortez, Internal Definition, Apex Predators, Vito, Cash Lansky & Marley B and ARS.
7 p.m. Sunday, The Vibe, 1805 University Ave., Riverside, $10 in advance, $12 at the door, all ages.
