STAGECOACH 2013: Barbeques compete for top prize

One of the more popular and unique food choices at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival is their barbecue alley.

Pushed off into the corner, more than a dozen barbecue groups compete in the annual cook-off.

Here festival goers can get ribs, brisket, chicken and pork, fire cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had a taste of Rooftop Barbeque’s ribs and their sister outlet Basement Barbeque’s brisket, both really tasty.

STAGECOACH 2013: Dierks Bentley’s afternoon set

At 1 p.m. the festival grounds are bare. Most of the festival goers at Stagecoach are claiming the Mane stage set or checking out some of the early afternoon sets in the tents.

COACHELLA 2013: Vampire Weekend gets crowd dancing

Is that the sound of surf guitar and witty lyrics? Then it must be Vampire Weekend.

The quartet played at the man stage Sunday, April 21, to a huge crowd of dancing festival goers.

The show started with a brief orchestrated overture, and quickly went into “Cousins.”

They didn’t mess around with a lot of talk, expect to pitch their upcoming album, “Modern Vampires of the City” out in three weeks.

COACHELLA 2013: A bandanna’s many uses

Next up as far as Coachella head wear goes is the multi-purposeful bandanna.

A very popular fashion accessory this year, it is customizable to our style and needs.

For the sweaty, I suggest the sweatband look.
