AUDIO FILES: Listen to Marshall Crenshaw and Dave Alvin
Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace is bringing in a double bill of icons on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Marshall Crenshaw and Dave Alvin are teaming up for a show at the spot.
Crenshaw, beloved singer-songwriter best known for “Someday, Someway,” has recently started his own subscription music service for fans. Crenshaw plans to release six three-song 10-inch, 45 RPM vinyl EPs over the next two years for subscribers (who also get a download of the music).

A car show and live rockabilly and psychobilly bands are coming to Hemet this weekend.
The Lowbrow Showdown will be at Sharkey’s Pizza and Games on Sunday, Feb. 10.
Aces & Thieves, Graveyard Drifters, ThrillBillyz, Tres Muertos, Dr. Bizarro’s Victims, The Daffys, Sandbox Bullies, The Lake Pipes and The Vampz are all on the bill.

RIVERSIDE: UCR Heat Festival includes Porter Robinson, Tyga, AWOLNATION
The Heat is on at UC Riverside, where the student body will not get that Glenn Frey reference at all.
The UCR Heat Festival returns to campus on March 2, with a lineup of EDM phenom Porter Robinson, rapper Tyga, plus AWOLNATION, Surfer Blood and Best Coast. Kid Ink, The M Machine and Audien round out the lineup.

MURRIETA: Rock the Oaks features Brewer Boys
Over the last few years, Temecula Live! brought out the best in local country music to raise money for the nonprofit Oak Grove Center.
For 2013, the event is changing. Now called Rock the Oaks, there will be three shows featuring a variety of performers over two days to New Covenant Church in Murrieta over Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9.
