SAN BERNARDINO: Chester Bennington stops by X103.9

If you’re a fan of Linkin Park (and/or the new version Stone Temple Pilots), you might want to know that frontman  Chester Bennington came through the Inland Empire earlier this week.

The singer stopped by X103.9 FM in San Bernardino and talked with the station’s Program Director (and longtime supporter of the I.E. Music scene) John DeSantis.

Check out the in-studio performance he gave of “The Messenger.”

PALM SPRINGS: Jefferson Airplane drummer killed in car crash

Joey Covington, who was the drummer for Jefferson Airplane as well as Hot Tuna, was killed in a car crash in Palm Springs on Tuesday, June 4.

The accident happened just before 5 p.m.  on Belardo Road. The Desert Sun has more details on the accident.

Covington, who was 67 years old, was the drummer for Jefferson Airplane between 1970 and 1972.

He had recently performed in Palm Springs at the Marilyn Monroe 87th birthday celebration.

San Manuel Amphitheater has been transformed for the Mumford & Sons show.

The signs welcoming you to Glen Helen Regional Park had been changed to Mumford & Sons Regional Park. The staffers have special red Mumford & Sons branded shirts, too.
