FOX: Houghs add second show, Ozomatli and Matisyahu tickets on sale Friday

Julianne and Derek Hough are so popular that the dancing siblings have added a second show to their Riverside stop this summer.

The “Move Live” tour, which already had an 8 p.m. show at the Fox Performing Arts Center on Saturday, July 19, will also have a 3 p.m. matinee show the same day. There are only a handful of tickets for the nighttime show, but tickets for the afternoon performance go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, May 9. Tickets are $35-$65, before fees.

Also on sale this week at the Fox is a Saturday, Aug. 30, date with Matisyahu, Ozomatli and Makua Rothman.

Matisyahu, who rose to fame with reggae-rap hit “King Without a Crown,” has been going in more of an alt-rock direction in recent years. His new album, “Akeda,” will be out June 3.

World music group Ozomatli just had a big show with Los Lobos (who have officially been added to the Boz Scaggs gig July 17 at the Fox) and their summer tour dates include multiple stops with Matisyahu. Tickets are $35-$45, before fees and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Also, Minnesota R&B group Mint Condition, which had hits with “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)” and “What Kind of Man Would I Be?” will perform at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 17.

Tickets, $19.50-$39.50, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

RIVERSIDE: Boz Scaggs, Los Lobos lead new downtown shows

The Fox Performing Arts Center and Riverside Municipal Auditorium have announced a new batch of shows going on sale.

Marisela, a Latina pop star who rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s, will perform at the Fox  on Thursday, April 24. Tickets are $30-$53, before fees.

The Beatles Vs. Stones won’t be the only tribute show at the Muni. No Doubt tribute No Duh will be at the venue on Friday, April 25. Tickets are $12, before fees.

San Diego reggae band Tribal Seeds will perform at the Muni on Saturday, May 24.  Tickets are $28-$38, before fees.

Boz Scaggs and Los Lobos have both performed at the Fox, but never on the same bill. The man responsible for the “Lido Shuffle” and the band responsible for “Kiko” will share a night at the venue on July 17. Tickets are $55-$99.50, before fees.

For all of the shows, tickets go on sale to the public at noon Friday., March 14.  Pre-sales begin Tuesday, March 11 for Marisela and on Wednesday, March 12 for Boz Scaggs and Los Lobos.

Yanni, Greek god of the new age piano, brings his music to the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside on Sept. 17.

The Fox Performing Arts Center and Riverside Municipal Auditorium have announced a new batch of shows going on sale this week, including a popular singer-songwriter, a country superstar and more.

LeAnn Rimes is the biggest name in the newly announced shows.

The singer, famous for songs such as “Blue” and “How Do I Live,” will return to the Fox on Saturday, Sept. 27, for the first time since she played the venue in 2012. Tickets are $35.50-$68.50, before fees.

British singer-songwriter James Blunt will make his Fox debut on Sunday, May 18. Tickets are $31-$55.50, before fees.

You know him from the monster hit “You’re Beautiful,” which will now be stuck in your head the rest of the day. The show replaces the Trace Adkins show scheduled for that same day, which has been postponed.

Another show headed to the Fox features the Midtown Men, a harmony group of actors from the hit musical “Jersey Boys.” They will perform on Friday, April 11.

The Midtown Men are Christian Hoff, Daniel Reichard and J. Robert Spencer, who created the roles of three of the Four Seasons in “Jersey Boys,” and Michael Longoria, who joined the Broadway cast later as Frankie Valli. Tickets are $28.50-$53.50, before fees.

Also, rapper YG has been booked for the Riverside Municipal Auditorium on Thursday, May 22, with DJ mustard for the “My Krazy Life” tour. The show is open to guests 18 and older and tickets are $23-$33, before fees.

Tickets for all of the shows go on sale to the public at noon on Friday, Feb. 28, with various pre-sales starting earlier.

Before the tickets were even on sale to the general public  for Jason Mraz’s  March 27th  show at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, they were nearly sold out.

Fewer than 100 tickets remained Wednesday afternoon after pre-sales for fan club members and others.

The singer-songwriter, who came up on the coffeehouse circuit in San Diego, has added a second show at the venue for Tuesday, March 25. You know him for hits such as “I’m Yours” and “The Remedy.”

Tickets for the March 25 show go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday at www.livenation.com.  The tickets are priced at $63.50-$85.50 before fees.

UPDATE 2/19: The Fox has added a second Jason Mraz show.

The Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside has snagged a special acoustic appearance from Jason Mraz for its calendar.

The radio-friendly singer-songwriter, known for his catchy pop rock hits such as “I’m Yours,” “The Remedy” and “You and I Both,” is doing a special run of West Coast tour dates.

He’s only performing eight shows and the lone Southern California gig is at the Fox on March 27.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 21 at noon, with an artist fan club and a Citi pre-sale happening on Wednesday and Thursday. The tickets are $63.50-$85.50, before fees.

The acts just keep on coming for the Fox Performing Arts Center and Riverside Municipal Auditorium, with a new batch of performers announced for the downtown Riverside venues.

The Fox will see the 30th anniversary of the Happy Together tour with Flo & Eddie of The Turtles, Mark Farner, Mitch Ryder, Gary Lewis and the Playboys and former Three Dog Night singer Chuck Negron on Wednesday, July 16 and two shows from comedian Larry the Cable Guy on Friday, Sept. 12.

Tickets for Happy Together are priced at $35.50-$65.50, before fees, and are $41-$96 for Larry the Cable Guy, before fees.

Meanwhile, the Riverside Municipal Auditorium will host rapper Tech N9ne on Tuesday, June 3, and the Beatles Vs. Stones musical tribute battle on Saturday, June 21. The Tech N9ne show is open to guests 18 and older and tickets are $23-$33, before fees. Tickets are $10-$18 for Beatles Vs. Stones, before fees.

Tickets for all of the newly announced shows will go on sale Friday, Feb. 21 at noon.

Two more shows have been announced for Riverside’s downtown venues operated by Live Nation.

Up first is One Night of Queen at the Fox Performing Arts Center on March 7.  The show has been a popular perennial favorite at the venue. Tickets are on sale now through Live Nation and are $16-$53, plus fees. You can pick them up at www.livenation.com or at the Fox box office for less fees.

Also, a new show has been added to the lineup of the Riverside Municipal Auditorium. Rapper Kid Ink will headline a show at the venue on April 8. Tickets, priced at $18-$28, before fees, go on sale Friday, Feb. 14 at noon at www.livenation.com. King Los and Bizzy Crook will also perform. The show is open to guests 16 years old and older.

Even though the date is April 1, it’s no joke that country music legend Willie Nelson is headed to the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside.

Nelson, a casino circuit regular around these parts, has also played both the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival.

One of the most iconic country performers still on the road today, Nelson is known for hits such as “Whiskey River,” “Always on My Mind” and “On the Road Again.”

Tickets are priced at $65-$96, before fees. Pre-sale tickets, for fan club members, VIP experiences and more, begin on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public at noon on Friday, Jan. 10.

Riverside will have some blues icons in its midst Thursday, Nov. 7

Cray, a multi-Grammy winner who has played with legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton, is supporting his 2012 release “Nothin But Love.”

Los Lobos, who seem to make Riverside an annual stop in recent years, released “Disconnected in New York City,” a live album celebrating the band’s 40th anniversary, on Oct. 29.

Tickets are available at the Fox Performing Arts Center box office and via Ticketmaster. (Tip: You’ll pay far less in fees going through the box office).
