More than 100 people have been arrested at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival since it started on Friday, April 26, according to a spokesman for the local police department.
Most of the arrests — none Thursday night, when the campgrounds opened, 52 Friday, 40 Saturday and 12 as of 5:30 p.m. Sunday — have been alcohol-related, Indio police spokesman Benjamin Guitron told reporter Richard Brooks. (Read the full story here.) On Saturday, there were two drug-related arrests and one DUI.

With the temperature hitting 106 degrees at the Empire Polo Club today for the finale of the seventh annual Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, people were trying to cool off.
One of the most popular items was the misting apparatus. If you had a mister, you were making friends all over the place. People waiting in line at security were spraying their neighbors, kids shot you with mist as you walked by.

Press-Enterprise cops reporter Rich Brooks spoke to the nursing supervisor at JFK Memorial Hospital just down the road from the Stagecoach Country Music Festival grounds in Indio, which is where fans who get sick or injured are taken.
Since Friday, the hospital has seen 29 medical emergencies, mostly dehydration and heat exhaustion, which nursing supervisor Steve Williams said was better than last year, possibly because people are being hydrated at a medical tent on site.
