Earlier this week, we posted our first video from our PE Live series that we shot outside our studio.

We caught up with Riverside’s Summer Twins at Hangar 24 in Redlands, where they were playing their last local show for a while before going on a West Coast tour that kicks off this weekend to support new EP “Forget Me.”

Last week, we took PE Live on the road for the first time out to Hangar 24 Brewery in Redlands to catch Riverside’s Summer Twins and Redlands’ Swiss Alps on the patio.

If you haven’t heard Summer Twins, you need to hear them now. They’re one of those bands you’ll be able to brag to your friends about, saying you heard them way back when. It’s sun-soaked indie dream pop at its finest.

They’re headed out on tour, with a stop in San Diego on Monday before heading up the coast. You can read more about what Summer Twins are up to over at the iGuide.

Here’s “I Don’t Care”  off their fantastic debut album. If you let the video play, you can also see an interview with Chelsea and Justine Brown as well as performances of “Carefree” and “I’m No Good.”

Every Thursday, we post videos of performances and exclusive interviews with Inland bands at the PE Live page.  Next week, we’ll unleash the Swiss Alps’ performances from our last visit to Hangar 24.

And if you want to come to a PE Live taping in person, we’ll be filming Inland duo ColeSlaw, with Matt Coleman and Chad Villarreal, for a future edition on the patio at Hangar 24 Brewery’s Tasting Room on Wednesday, July 31.

Riverside’s Summer Twins are headed out on a summer tour, but before the band heads down and up the Pacific Coast, their dreamy indie pop will be at Hangar 24 in Redlands on Wednesday, July 17.

Starting with Riverside sisters Chelsea and Justine Brown, the band has been growing a huge following, and even had a major tour in Japan earlier this year.

More recently, the band released the new EP “Forget Me,” which you can check out on the Summer Twins’ Bandcamp page.

Check out the new video from the band of the title track, directed by Summer Twins’ incredibly talented longtime photographer Joy Newell.

Swiss Alps will open the show at 6:30.

8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, Hangar 24 Brewery, 1710 Sessums Drive, Redlands, free, all ages, but must be 21 to drink.

AUDIO FILES: Listen to Matthew Sweet, Summer Twins

It feels like a power pop Saturday to me.

One of my favorite songwriters is Matthew Sweet. I love the guitar work on “Girlfriend.” I love the lyrics on “I’ve Been Waiting.” I think “Sick of Myself” is one of the most perfect pop songs ever written.

I interviewed Sweet a few years ago and asked him about writing “Sick of Myself” and he told me that song came out all at once, when he was leaving town to start recording “100 % Fun,” the album that has the song on it.

Fun fact: Sweet also makes pottery. If you’re looking for a present for the cat-lover in your life, check out his work.

Sweet has been on tour a lot this year and he’s been bringing Riverside’s own power pop outfit Summer Twins with him.

Check out the handclap power of “I Will Love You.”
